Jean McLoughlin

Partner, Co-Head of Executive Compensation Group
Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP

Her deep commitment to community service is why Dancing Classrooms is honoring her with the Humanitarian award. After attending the Mad Hot Ball and witnessing Dancing Classrooms' transformative work firsthand, Jean was inspired to take ballroom dance lessons herself. Jean was inspired by a student who spoke at the Mad Hot Ball about the importance in dance of learning to get along with a partner even if you disagree with that person, and from her dance lessons, has learned the importance of standing tall and keeping your chin up.

Jean was the first woman partner in her group at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLC, where her work focuses on executive compensation. Jean advises her mentees at work that “one way to be successful in life is to figure out how to be useful and leave a situation better because you participated. However, even though you should always want to be useful, you don’t always have to be the one to make everyone feel good!”

As a grateful member of the Young Survival Coalition – an organization for young women diagnosed with breast cancer – she received important assistance when she needed it and made amazing friends who showed up for her time and again. Now Jean continues to show up for others in various ways, in the belief that none of us can succeed on our own.
