Connection. Inclusion. JOY.
Through the joyful art and practice of social dances, Dancing Classrooms cultivates engaged learners, collaborative leaders, and inclusive spaces.
Our vision is a world that values social dance as foundational to every child’s well-being and joy, celebrates the beauty of diversity, and amplifies our shared humanity.

"My son was very proud of his accomplishments during the process and I was blown away...
…by what it did for his personality and confidence. I cried watching them enter, perform and exit. It truly touched me because my son is not athletic and spends a lot of his free time on computer and game devices. In this day and age when human interaction continues to dwindle, it was so wonderful to see them interact on that level.”
— Parent of 5th Grade student

"We learned different dances from different cultures, that way we can celebrate each other...
…and get to know each other better. I might even learn some dances of my own culture. At first I felt stressed and nervous to dance in front of everyone, but then I felt really happy and proud of myself. We had a funny teacher who made everything fun.”
— Zoey, 4th grade student from Staten Island

"Every Teaching Artist that has come through our doors has been fantastic.
The program is very sensitive to our students’ cultural and religious needs. It focuses so much on kids learning how to respect themselves, respect others, expanding their creativity, working on their self confidence, and just working as a team.”
— Ms. Susana Rojas, Supervisor at Sara M. Gilmore Academy

"The most important thing I learned in Dancing Classrooms was to give back to people...
…and to always remain humble. I can truthfully say that dancing has always brought joy and happiness to my life.”
— Kristina Cordero, Dancing Classrooms Academy Alumni
